How can we help?
The SLR Process Engineering team assist clients in ensuring they comply with their regulatory requirements relating to industrial wastewater cost-effectively. This can involve tasks related to; design and implementation of waste minimisation processes on production lines, existing treatment plant operation and maintenance, including troubleshooting and process optimisation, new treatment plant selection, specification, and commissioning, regulator liaison and expert witness services.
The team also lends their technical expertise to complete Technical Due Diligence on the development of new processing plants or acquisitions. This work often carries forward to providing contract support, acting as Owner’s Engineer and carrying out Performance Testing of new plants and equipment.
The team can carry out this work across industries thanks to their systematic approach, but have specific experience with food and drink, whisky distilleries, recycling, energy from waste, and anaerobic digestion plants.
Our team includes
Christina has over 10 years of experience in environmental engineering. Her focus has been on surface water quality modeling and permitting, and remedial investigation and design. She has completed mixing zone and dye studies, including thermal impact assessments in support of wastewater discharge permitting projects for seafood processing, pulp and paper, energy, and manufacturing facilities, and provided engineering calculations and hydrodynamic modeling in support of conceptual and detailed designs for wastewater diffusers.
Don has 25 years of water and wastewater experience in the mining and industrial sectors, providing project management and design support services. He assists in the development of engineering designs, including process flow diagrams, basic engineering, equipment specifications, detail design, and project management for industrial water and wastewater treatment facilities. Don has conducted multiple sales and educational seminars with clients worldwide. He has been involved with inspection, startup, operator training and testing, and trouble-shooting of most solids-liquid separation equipment.
D’Ann Wilkins has 20 years of experience in microbiology, aquatic toxicity, wastewater and whole effluent toxicity projects and has extensive experience in the management of Toxicity Reduction Identification/Evaluation studies (TREs). These studies have included municipal and industrial facilities with a primary focus on processes within power plants, manufacturing, mining, electrodialysis water treatment plants and refineries. She has a thorough knowledge of biological wastewater systems, state and federal water quality standards, regulatory drivers, laboratory practices and their applicability to wastewater compliance and enforcement.
Steven has a degree in chemical engineering and almost 30 years of experience as an environmental consultant. His focus has been on evaluating the feasibility of and designing engineered solutions for wastewater treatment and soil and groundwater remediation, permitting wastewater discharges, and assessing the impact of wastewater discharges on the receiving bodies of water.
