Principal Acoustical Consultant
Dr. Jonathan Vallarta has seventeen years of experience in underwater acoustics in a wide range of positions including teaching, design, project management, acoustic consulting and collaborative research. He has considerable experience providing training courses in fundamentals of underwater noise and monitoring techniques. In 2018, his expertise was recognized as an invited panelist and Mexican advisor at the United Nations in New York.
Technical Discipline Manager
Over the last few years, Dan has specialised in the offshore marine environment, specifically regarding the oil and gas industry. He has extensive knowledge and understanding of the EEZ Act, Resource Management Act, Maritime Transport Act, Marine Protection Rules, Department of Conservations Code of Conduct for Minimising Acoustic Disturbance of Marine Animals, Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act (OPGGS Act) 2006 and the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act, where he is considered one of the most experienced and respected consultants within New Zealand.
Justin is an experienced researcher in Acoustical Oceanography. He is involved in managing and delivering underwater noise consulting projects, specifically marine mammal impact assessments. Justin has been provided ongoing acoustic technical support for the Enhancing Cetacean Habitat and Observation (ECHO) program at the Port of Vancouver since July 2019
