Biography
Ian is a Technical Director with 20 years of experience in highways and transportation, advising clients such as institutional funds, house builders, and developers. He specialises in preparing and submitting transport information for planning applications. Ian has a strong track record of providing advice for successful built environment schemes, from project conception and feasibility, through to discharge of planning conditions. Ian has a particular expertise working with Strategic Land clients, and is experienced at appeal work, preparing written representations, and appearing as Expert Witness at Public Inquiries and Informal Hearings.
Recently, he has worked extensively in the renewable energy sector. Ian’s expertise spans Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects progressed through the DCO process in addition to smaller scale developments progressed via the Town and County Planning Act. Ian has prepared inputs to solar, BESS, onshore and offshore wind, power distribution, geothermal, biogas, and hydrogen production and distribution projects throughout the UK. Inputs to these projects have included access feasibility appraisal, EIA, construction traffic management, abnormal load feasibility studies, and planning condition discharge.
