Process Engineering
SLR’s US Process Engineering team includes chemical and environmental engineers who specialize in conducting feasibility studies and preparing engineering designs for soil and groundwater remediation systems and industrial wastewater treatment systems. We have extensive experience with permitting surface water discharges from these systems for industrial clients, ports, and municipalities.
SLR process engineers support your success by focusing on their needs. We strive to work closely with our clients’ project team to develop the project scope, monitor scope, schedule, and budget, and keep the client informed of the project status.
Overview
Our approach to process engineering
We are focused on completing projects with a systematic, methodical approach. The first step is to define the problem and then pinpoint the objective of the project. The importance of this first step cannot be overstated. Once the problem and objectives have been determined, we will brainstorm approaches to solving the problem and meeting the project objectives. While we respect proven methods, we also embrace innovation and encourage creative, forward-thinking concepts in our work. Each project presents its own unique challenges, and we treat them as such rather than applying generic, cookie-cutter solutions.
How we manage projects
We have extensive experience managing projects at every level of complexity, covering industrial sectors such as food processing, forest products manufacturing, metals manufacturing, solar panel manufacturing, and petroleum hydrocarbon terminals and refineries. Our project management style focuses on building an understanding of project risk, managing risk, monitoring scope, schedule, and budget, and performing the technical work.
As a multi-disciplinary firm, SLR can provide an extensive range of technical services, and we regularly involve members of other teams – such as geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, structural engineering, air quality, and stormwater engineering – to perform elements of our projects.
Get in touchData-driven solutions
An essential element of treating every project as a unique challenge is paying attention to detail. Solutions must be driven by data, so our focus is on building datasets and then analyzing the data to build knowledge and understanding, using decades of experience.
