In July 2026, the UK government published ‘The Environmental Permitting (Waste Controlling or Transporting) and Relevant Functions of Primary Authorities (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2026 – SI 2026/873’ [1]. These regulations form part of the government's wider reforms to waste regulation in England, aimed at strengthening regulatory oversight, improving accountability, and tackling waste crime.

Biography

Nigel supports and brings together the strengths and expertise of all our corporate sustainability teams around the world, to connect this into global offerings and global teams for clients and markets.

Nigel joined SLR in 2026 along with Penny Baxter and their team through the acquisition of the SB+CO.

He has over 25 years’ experience in this field and over the last two decades has worked on some of the most challenging and high-profile sustainability/ESG strategy and business transformation programmes for companies in all sectors, all around the world.

Prior to SB+CO Nigel also co-founded Salterbaxter which was voted one of the top 10 management consultancies in sustainability by the Financial Times.
