Biography

Kalina is a professional biologist with 17 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry and 20 years of experience in the field of biology within British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and the Northwest Territories. Her professional experience includes conducting breeding bird surveys including aerial migratory waterfowl surveys, nest surveys and establishment of setbacks and monitoring, amphibian surveys including trapping and relocation, fish and electrofishing surveys including trapping and relocation, and mammal surveys including winter aerial surveys. She has also conducted vegetation and plant community surveys, wetland assessments including regulatory required mapping and reporting, and air photo interpretation with ground truthing. Kalina has also conducted species at risk surveys (SAR) including survey and monitoring work for the development and submission of Species at Risk Act permits and collection, salvage, and relocation work with SAR under permit. Kalina has been a lead environmental monitor during large scale remediation projects where SAR have been present providing client support and mitigation measures. She has also completed numerous reports including environmental monitoring (EM), environmental management plans (EMP), environmental protection plans (EPP), and environmental effects determinations reports (EED). Kalina has also presented at numerous conferences on experience and project related topics.
