Biography
John Walker is a Principal Mining Engineer with 35 years’ experience in bulk, base, industrial and precious metal projects, working as a consultant for the last 11 years. He is Technical Director and the technical lead for mine and process engineering for SLR Advisory Services UK/Europe.
Acting as Project Manager and mining technical lead on numerous feasibility and due diligence studies, John has gained considerable experience across all commodities and mining methods, both open pit and underground, from projects in North and South America, South Africa, East Africa, Western Africa, Europe, Russia and former Soviet republic countries, Australia, and the Caribbean. Recently he was the Technical Lead on a major Nickel Feasibility study in Indonesia and provides mining advice on project risks and appropriate study maturity for investment.
He is a recognised Competent Person and Qualified for Mineral Reporting (QMR) in Mineral/Ore Reserve assessments to international reporting standards. He has completed mining right applications, undertaken due diligence assessments and technical reviews on numerous world mining assets for investment companies, served as the lenders’ advisor on the cost to complete of investments, and has been involved with mergers and acquisitions.
