Biography
Francois is based in our Gold Coast office and has over 20 years’ of experience within the minerals sector, mainly concerning the design and construction of tailings facilities and heap leach pads along with their associated infrastructure. Francois has been involved with numerous tailings projects across Africa and Australia for a large number of mining companies.
Francois has strong knowledge and experience in tailings facility design, construction, review and assessment with extensive experience in gold tailings. Francois currently holds / has previously held Engineer of Record / Responsible Professional Engineer appointments for a number of tailings facilities in Africa and Australia. Francois is currently part of the Technical Review Panel for mineral residue deposits at the AngloAmerican Kumba Iron Ore Sishen and Kolomela mines in South Africa, and part of the Newcrest Tailings Stewardship Programme associated with water dams and tailings facilities at the Cadia and Telfer operations in Australia.
