SLR's Mark Arigoni co-chairs global landscape architecture task force

SLR U.S. Manager of Landscape Architecture (LA), Mark Arigoni, PLA, is currently co-chairing a Global Job Task Analysis (GJTA) research project with the support of the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) and the Council of Landscape Architecture Registration Boards (CLARB). The project will result in an international survey that will be administered to landscape architects around the world.

This unique project intends to develop global understanding of the practice of landscape architecture and its vital impact to the health, safety and social well-being of the worlds people, places, and environment. A select working group of internationally practicing LA’s met recently to support the project for a three-day intensive workshop on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. Event attendees traveled from the U.S., UK, Croatia/Serbia, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Chile, Columbia, and Australia. The continued work of this group and the results eventual survey will be vital to the success of this ground-breaking research project.

“Having the opportunity to participate in an open dialogue with globally practicing Landscape Architects was not only extremely informational in guiding the development of the survey, but it was also truly inspirational to see the similarities in the values that our profession shares. A universally noted theme was that our profession is uniquely qualified to continue to be a major contributor in protecting and improving the world’s environments, regardless of the continent or region that we find ourselves on,” noted Mark Arigoni, SLR U.S. Manager of Landscape Architecture & Co-Chair GJTA.

The opening of the survey is planned for the 58th IFLA World Congress 2022 in Gwangju, Korea in August/September.
