The town of Gorham has contracted SLR for the design of a 17-lot industrial and business park on 144 acres of vacant farmland. The town hopes to diversify its economic base amid the booming local market and attract commercial, manufacturing, and industrial businesses from Maine and elsewhere.

The aim is for the lots, which are designed to support buildings ranging from 10,000 to 50,000 square feet, to be ready to market in 2022. According to town officials, "the overarching goal is to attract commercial, manufacturing and industrial businesses of all sizes, from Maine and beyond, and provide incubator space to grow entrepreneurship and the Maine economy."

In addition to working with Gorham on design, SLR’s technical team from Portland, Maine, is working with the town on permitting and road construction to expand the opportunities for the region’s growth. You can read more about our civil engineering services here.
