This year’s report reflects a significant step forward in our responsible sourcing journey. It brings together verified data from daily on‑site monitoring, digital traceability, and structured corrective action frameworks, demonstrating how practical engagement can improve working conditions, strengthen supply chain integrity, and support communities.

In their foreword, SLR Better Mining’s leadership highlights the growing global need for transparent, ethical mineral supply chains and the vital role of on‑the‑ground monitoring. They emphasise that responsible sourcing is no longer optional and that meaningful, lasting progress depends on collaboration across governments, industry, and local communities.

Key highlights from the 2024 Impact Report include:

  • A 47% increase in assured 3T volumes from Rwanda and the DRC, strengthened by continuous risk monitoring and improved traceability.
  • Significant improvements in corrective action implementation across 3T and copper-cobalt sites, supporting safer operations and stronger accountability.
  • The rollout of TRACE 2.0, enhancing data quality, platform reliability and shipment-level assurance.
  • Expansion into Madagascar’s mica sector, with baseline assessments completed and capacity-building delivered to exporters.
  • Tangible progress in reducing child labour risks, improving pit safety, and building community partnerships across mining regions.

Although responsible sourcing expectations continue to rise globally, the report shows how practical, evidence-based interventions can support miners, cooperatives and exporters in meeting emerging requirements.

The 2024 report also recognises the commitment of our field agents and the communities we work with. Their daily presence on mine sites continues to be the driving force behind measurable improvements in safety, transparency and livelihoods.
