Senior Manager, Energy Advisory
Manuel Merlino is an experienced team leader and senior project manager with over 15 years in the energy sector, specializing in strategic planning, energy efficiency, innovation, and operational excellence. He has led initiatives and projects in the Oil & Gas, Food & Beverage, Consumer Goods, Mining, and Automotive sectors, across Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Mexico, the US, Peru, and Colombia. He has also worked in the public sector, developing energy-efficiency policies and programs at Argentina's Ministry of Energy. He currently works for SLR Consulting’s global Energy Advisory team.
Manuel holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Buenos Aires Institute of Technology (ITBA, Argentina) and a Master’s Degree in Project Evaluation (ITBA–UCEMA, Argentina). He is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP) by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), as well as a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
Throughout his career, Manuel has led strategic analyses, decarbonization programs, and energy transition initiatives, consistently delivering actionable insights and measurable performance improvements. He has also held roles in operational support, process engineering, process safety and operational excellence, which equipped him with a solid foundation to tackle complex technical challenges and lead transformational efforts while managing technical risks.
He is fluent in Spanish and English.
