IAIAsa Annual National Conference
The IAIAsa Annual National Conference takes place at Rustenburg, South Africa, from 27 – 30 August 2024. We are thrilled that a team from SLR will be attending the conference which is focussing on a number of environmental challenges and this year has the topic: “From Roar to Revolution: Unleashing the future of IEM".
Presenting at the conference will be:
Jeremy Blood – presenting a paper entitled: “Managing Environmental and Social Risks of Green Hydrogen and Ammonia Export Projects in Africa”
Nontethelelo Dlamini and Duncan Keal – co-presenting a poster entitled: “Challenges of Managing Involuntary Resettlement: Lessons learned through a Socio-Economic Study of a resettled community”
Theo Wicks – presenting a poster entitled: “NEMA and Onshore Gas Exploration - Sustainably making a square peg, fit a round hole”
Andisiwe Mkhize – presenting a poster entitled: “Challenges faced in RE cluster projects”
Natasha Smyth and Njabulo Mzilikazi – co-presenting a poster entitled: “Mine closure through an ESG lens”
Also in attendance are Humayrah Bassa, IAIAsa National Executive Committee Member and IAIAsa KZN Branch Chair, as well as Nicholas Arnott, IAIAsa National Executive Committee Member and IAIAsa Western Cape Branch Chair.
