  • Introduction to the main environmental laws and compliance obligations:
    • Waste, Air, Energy, Carbon, Water, Nuisance, Contaminated land and conservation.
    • Practical approaches to managing compliance against each identified law.
  • Environmental regulators and sanctions:
    • Compliance enforcement; civil and criminal sanctions; business consequences of non-compliance.
  • Effective environmental law compliance management systems:
    • Legal registers; Compliance evaluations; Keeping up to date; Contractors; Managing incidents.
  • Horizon scanning:
    • Government environmental strategy and policy development; Open and closed consultations; New laws, amendments, repeals.
  • Question and answer session and close.
