Biography

Vicky Pearson has over 20 years’ experience in environmental assessment, including Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), Sustainability Appraisal (SA), and Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA), and is an experienced project manager. Vicky has led a number of strategic HRAs of plans and was involved in some of the first in the country, following the 2005 European Court ruling that made HRA mandatory for plans.

Her experience includes in‑depth Appropriate Assessment (AA), including in‑combination effects assessments of issues such as water quality, recreation, and air quality at both terrestrial and coastal sites. Projects such as the Waltham Forest Local Plan SA and HRA, Whitehill‑Bordon Ecotowns AA, and the West Northamptonshire Joint Core Strategy AA have given Vicky experience in developing SANGs strategies, air quality mitigation strategies, designing visitor surveys, and undertaking GIS studies in support of assessments.
