Biography
Oliver is based in Singapore and has been working with, and in, financial institutions and businesses for over 23 years across Sustainable Finance, ESG and Responsible Finance/Lending. He brings a unique and strong understanding of the practical application of international standards to assist financiers and those seeking financing from an Environmental & Social (E&S) perspective.
He has substantial first-hand experience in the field across a wide range of geographies and sectors. His work includes supporting Financial Institutions in the development and implementation of their ESG processes (including adherence to the Equator Principles), undertaking lenders’ E&S due diligence and assisting project/investees in navigating, understanding and meeting financiers’ E&S expectations. He is thoroughly familiar with the use and application of international benchmarks and standards, including the IFC Performance Standards, WBG EHS Guidelines, ADB Safeguards, and the Equator Principles.
Oliver worked with IFC for over 8 years as a Lead E&S Specialist, handling over USD 4 billion in debt and equity investments. Additionally, he previously worked for Standard Chartered as a Sustainable Finance Manager in the Wholesale Bank, reviewing and advising on transactions to meet the requirements of the Equator Principles (and IFC standards) and the Bank’s Environmental and Social Policies.
