In our continued efforts to improve our diversity and inclusion at SLR, we're delighted to have partnered with Women in Technology & Science Ireland. This follows our membership with Women in Science and Engineering in the UK earlier this year, opening up more of these opportunities for our Irish colleagues.

Women in Technology and Science (WITS) is a national independent voluntary organisation. Founded in November 1990 it works to actively promote women in technology and science in Ireland. WITS has informed and educated, completed projects, held events and published two books celebrating the lives and achievements of STEM women. WITS members come from all areas in STEM, from industry and academia, and range in age and experience from third level students to some of the country’s most eminent senior academics and businesspeople.

They advocate for policy change at national and at governmental level on national strategy for science, technology and innovation. They also develop and respond to STEM and gender policy at local and national level, e.g. WITS Action Manifesto. WITS compile an annual women in STEM report and promote gender equality in higher education and research.

This partnership means SLR colleagues can attend WITS events and workshops, and benefit from networking opportunities with fellow STEM peers.
