Biography

Barry Carlson offers over 35 years of professional experience in project management and project design for numerous mining projects and operations across the United States, including heap leach metallurgical analysis and recovery, heap leach design, modeling and leaching optimization, geotechnical design and analyses, site reclamation planning, and remedial action planning.

Recent acknowledgments include optimizing the recovery of heap leach pads and process components; metallurgical testing programs, including diffusion testing and modeling; detailed heap leach process analyses and dynamic systems water balances for heap leach operations; and project due diligence and feasibility studies, including 43-101 compliant reports serving as the Qualified Person (QP), in the United States and abroad.

Barry’s experience includes management and interactions with the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) and multiple state agencies, including Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP), Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ), Washington State Department of Health (WDOH), and UDOE for mining projects on federal and private lands in the United States.

Recently, Barry pursued and successfully obtained 14 patents for his inventions related to a new composite structural material formulated to outperform typical wood structures in both strength and longevity. Patents were obtained in the United States, Canada, Mexico, China, and Europe.
