Today the University of Texas at Austin (UT) announced project Astra, a new partnership led by UT and bringing together Environmental Defense Fund, ExxonMobil, Gas Technology Institute (GTI) and Pioneer Natural Resources Company.

You can check out the press release here: https://news.utexas.edu/2020/05/19/sensor-network-could-change-how-methane-emissions-are-detected/.

The partnership aims to demonstrate a novel approach to measuring methane emissions from oil and gas production sites, using advanced technologies and an array of sensors to help minimize releases into the atmosphere. SLR has participated in the design and plan for Project Astra through our support to the Astra team.
