Biography
Frank has extensive international experience in underground mining and mine design, mine backfill and tailings disposal systems that are integrated with best operating practices and shareholder value, including environmental stewardship and sustainability. Frank has over 20 years of experience in operations (engineering, front-line supervisor, underground miner), coupled with 25 years of mine optimization specializing in paste and other backfill systems, and sustainable and cost-effective alternative tailings management technologies. He has worked on and successfully implemented many groundbreaking projects, from small operations of 500 t/d to large operations of +200,000 t/d, including extreme-cold-weather high-Arctic sites and wet tropical and desert regions globally. His mining consulting experience includes mine optimization, backfill technologies (CRF, sandfill, classified tailings, and paste technology), and alternative tailings and mine waste management strategies (thickened tailings, dry-stack filter cake, paste, co-disposal, sub-aqueous thickened tailings applications). He has a broad range of experience across most commodities, including gold, silver, base metals, potash, uranium, coal power plant combustion by-products (fly ash, bottom ash), phosphate and other precipitates, marine sediments/dredging, and aggregates.
