Biography
Max is an environmental and social professional with over 17 years’ experience advising financial institutions, investors and project sponsors on the identification, assessment and management of E&S risks in complex international transactions. He has delivered work in more than 30 countries across the Middle East, Africa, Central and South-East Asia, and the UK.
Max specialises in applying DFI and lender requirements to investment and financing decisions across major utilities such as power, desalination, wastewater, as well as infrastructure and industrial projects. His experience includes E&S and ESG due diligence, ESIA, E&S management systems, compliance monitoring, auditing (construction and operations) and reporting. He has developed practical risk-management frameworks, action plans and capacity-building programmes for corporates, portfolio companies, SPVs, private equity firms and other investors/stakeholders, and supports projects throughout the investment lifecycle.
Alongside technical delivery, Max plays a key role in client and strategic-partner relationships and business development, and contributes to broader business operations, drawing on his previous experience leading the technical team at 5 Capitals (part of SLR). Outside SLR, he is an advisory board member and guest lecturer for the American University of Sharjah’s Environmental Sciences Program.
