Biography
Julie Georges is a Senior Principal with over 40 years of experience in bridge engineering, program management, and transportation infrastructure planning. Julie leads multi-phase bridge design and deficiency analysis efforts, including task-based programs and corridor-wide evaluations for CTDOT. Her expertise spans technical supervision, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning, supported by active participation in national and regional committees.
Julie’s background involves nearly 30 years of experience with the Connecticut Department of Transportation, where she held progressively senior roles, culminating in her leadership of the state’s Bridge Rehabilitation Program. As Transportation Principal Engineer of Bridges and Structures, she managed a $90 million annual budget and oversaw more than 250 bridge projects in various stages of development. Her responsibilities included technical supervision, consultant contract management, and compliance with federal and state regulations. Julie also played a key role in major capital projects such as the Q-Bridge, Moses Wheeler Bridge, and the I-95/I-91/Rte. 34 interchange. She served on several influential committees, including Connecticut’s voting member on the AASHTO Bridge Subcommittee and Chair of the Bridge Standard Practices Committee.
