After a number of years in the Planning System, Duntanlich Barite Mine in Perthshire, Scotland, was granted planning consent in 2017.

SLR were subsequently appointed by Schlumberger to commence pre-construction planning and design related support for the mine site access and above ground infrastructure. The 2 stage design process, including procurement of the NEC3 construction contract, early contractor involvement, and discharge of complex pre-construction planning conditions associated with multiple environmental sensitivities attached to the site, was completed in early 2019 with the construction phase and major earthworks phase commencing in Spring 2019.

For more about the mine visit the Duntanlich website.
