Mainstream: Grid Connection for the proposed Ilikwa Solar PV Facility, Free State Province
South Africa Mainstream Renewable Power Developments (Pty) Ltd (hereafter referred to as ‘Mainstream’) have applied for Environmental Authorisation (EA) for the construction and operation of a Solar Energy Facility and associated Grid Connection infrastructure. The proposed project would be located on different sites situated approximately 19 km west of Sasolburg and 22 km north – east of Parys within the Ngwathe Local Municipality of the Fezile Dabi District Municipality in the Free State Province.
SLR Consulting (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd (‘SLR’) has been appointed by Mainstream to undertake the Scoping and EIA for the proposed project.
The Draft Basic Assessment Report (BAR) for the above-mentioned project has been made available for a 30-day public review and comment period from 23 September to 25 October 2021. Should you and / or your organisation wish to comment on the Draft BAR for the proposed project, comments should be sent to SLR, at the details above, by no later than 25 October 2021.
