The Haven Landscape Design

Challenge

SLR was commissioned by Stockland to provide landscape design advice and contract administration services for The Haven, a medium density development, with a 40 lot residential subdivision and one commercial zone, at Augustine Heights.

The development is focused around a small district park and streetscape of the future Redbank Plains Distributor on Kiedges Road.

Solution

The landscape design required solutions to address the steep natural embankments, fire breaks, and managing the drainage flowing through the park from external developments.

The design focus on the landscape and open spaces was primarily around creating a large kickabout space including basketball / handball facilities, as well as a nature / imaginative play element around the open space. The park includes terraces for creating an amphitheatre feel surrounding the kickabout.

The back drop of the development is a forested section of the adjacent development. It was important to stabilise the batters with native planting for fauna movement, while meeting with the project’s Bushfire Management Plan.
