Challenge

Green Atacama sought to build and operate a 1,000 L/s desalination plant and approve three distribution scenarios in northern Chile.

Solution

SLR prepared the Environmental Impact Study (EIA) of the plant and its routes, including:

  • Studies in geology, geomorphology, hydrogeology and hydrology
  • Air quality, noise, vibration and luminosity studies
  • Research on soil, flora, vegetation and fauna
  • Assessment of marine ecosystems
  • Survey of cultural heritage

Impact

This project strengthens the supply of drinking water in arid areas, with a comprehensive environmental assessment and respect for the natural and cultural environment.
