Biography

A Member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists, Chris has over 15 years’ experience in commercial heritage and archaeology. He has advised on major green-field and brown-field applications across sectors as diverse as national infrastructure, on- and off- shore green energy, minerals, agro-industrial and residential. Alongside project management, his specialties include advising on site feasibility, opportunities and constraints; negotiating proportionate scopes of desk-based and field investigation with heritage consultees; mitigation by design strategies; and the intricacies of heritage ‘setting’.

Chris has particular expertise in the area of heritage planning policy and case law, and the role of both within the wider planning system. He has acted as expert witness, on behalf of both private developers and local planning authorities, at numerous public inquiries involving complex heritage issues.
