SLR has acquired HydroSimulations, a team of groundwater specialists based in New South Wales, Australia.

Building on the existing team’s leading capabilities and industry recognition in groundwater services in the APAC region, HydroSimulations provides additional expertise and advice in hydrogeology, groundwater modelling, stream-aquifer interaction and groundwater management in a number of target client sectors, and broadens SLR’s geographic reach through a NSW presence.

The HydroSimulations team led by Dr Noel Merrick is currently based in Gerringong, and so will combine with the growing team in Wollongong on NSW’s south coast.

Neil Penhall, SLR’s Chief Executive said “We’re delighted to add HydroSimulations’ capabilities into SLR. Noel and the team are recognised experts in their field and will add significantly to the services we can offer our clients.

This is our second investment in Australia in a couple of months, following the acquisition of NRC in late 2018, and reflects the confidence and opportunity we see in the market. It also confirms our strategy of actively seeking both organic and acquisitive growth since the investment in SLR by Charterhouse Capital Partners in June 2018.”

Dr Noel Merrick, HydroSimulations’ Director added “We are excited about joining the SLR team and look forward to adding our talents to the strong capability already on offer in the business. Together I believe we can bring significant additional benefits and services to both our clients and our people.”
