We are delighted to announce that Maria-Ines Maita has joined SLR as a senior Social Environment and Due Diligence Specialist for our Canadian Environmental & Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) team.

Maria-Ines will work with the SLR team to expand our social environment and transactional due diligence service offerings. Maria-Ines is a lawyer with a Master of Science degree in Energy and Sustainable Development. She brings to SLR a broad range of domestic and international experience in the fields of Indigenous relations and stakeholder engagement, socio-economic impact assessment, environmental permitting and regulatory affairs. Maria-Ines is originally from Lima (Peru) and is fluent in English, Spanish and French.

She will be working alongside SLR Canada’s Environmental Management Planning and Approvals Lead, Fiona Christiansen, who cites Maria-Ines as a key resource for navigating the complexities of the domestic and international social environmental regulatory framework.
