World Water Day 2021
Celebrated on the 22nd March each year, World Water Day 2021 is all about what water means to people, its true value and how we can better protect this vital resource.
Water security - inclusive of access to clean reliable water supply and sanitation, remains one of the world’s most prevalent concerns. Already affecting more than 40% of people worldwide, at the current consumption rate, water scarcity will continue to become more severe, leading to water shortages and further degradation of ecosystems. Meanwhile, the true value of water often goes unrecognised, exposing societies and businesses to increased risk.
Over the years, SLR has helped many of our global clients take a more proactive approach to identifying water vulnerabilities and managing risk to plan for a more sustainable future. Of particular importance is our contribution to sustainability, efficiency, and supply projects in water stressed regions such as Africa and Australia.
In sub-Saharan Africa we have provided services which promote the sustainable and responsible management of water resources, as well as access to water and sanitation in underserved areas. These efforts have facilitated lasting impacts on not only the environment, but also local social and economic development.
Globally, our team of technical experts provide a holistic approach to water supply, preservation, and management. Our services cover water and wastewater engineering, water resource engineering, resiliency planning and design, marine science, ESG advisory, hydrology, hydrogeology, landscape architecture, CFD wind and energy, and many more.
