Stephen Woods

Biography

Stephen has 29 years’ experience in the minerals extractive industry working on mining geology and minerals related projects for CEMEX, Heritage Quarry Group, landowners, independent mineral operators, Lonmin, BNFL and the Icelandic Government. He joined SLR in 2017 and lead a team of mineral surveyors and geologists responsible for mineral estates management, planning, and EIA on quarry related and stone mining projects. Before joining SLR, Stephen spent 13 years as Development and Estates Manager with CEMEX UK Limited, responsible for the company’s estate and development of mineral assets. He successfully negotiated the acquisition of land interests and managed the preparation and submission of planning applications, integrating internal and external multidisciplinary teams. Stephen’s varied technical experience, encompassing all aspects of minerals development and management, has been obtained in a busy commercial environment where workload and organisation are critical to success.
