Biography
Neil is a Chartered Minerals Surveyor with 34 years’ post-qualification experience in the minerals industry having worked in both the national and private opencast coal mining sector and quarrying industry before joining SLR.
Neil provides mineral estates management services to a range of clients including private landowners, the Isle of Man Government, Forestry Commission England, States of Guernsey, National Trust for Jersey, Utility companies, Developers and Mineral Operators.

He specialises in the negotiation of mineral leases and option agreements and has experience in providing a full range of mineral consultancy services including ownership of mines and minerals; quarry and borrow pit design; evaluation and development of mineral resources; restoration and bonding arrangements; Town and Country Planning matters; and the valuation of mineral assets. Neil has considerable experience in providing advice on the risks and liabilities associated with historic abandoned mine entries associated with former coal and metalliferous mining workings.
Neil manages a portfolio of mineral assets on behalf of landowners. This involves the effective management of a range of mineral operations including sand and gravel operations, hard rock quarries, dimension stone quarries, inert landfilling of former surface mining operations, surface and underground coal mines, metalliferous and industrial.
