SLR has signed up to the United Nations Climate Neutral Now pledge and has committed to reduce SLR’s operational GHG emissions to a climate neutral position by 2030. In addition to this commitment, SLR has also signed up to the Science Based Targets initiative’s (SBTi) Business Ambition for 1.5°C . This commits SLR to measure its full value chain emissions, both upstream and downstream of our operations, and set a Net-Zero target within the next 2 years, in line with what climate science says is necessary to keep warming below 1.5°C.

The UN’s Climate Neutral Now Initiative encourages and supports organisations and other interested stakeholders to act now in order to achieve a climate neutral world by 2050 as enshrined in the Paris Agreement. SLR has joined over 400 other organisations by signing the Climate Neutral Now Pledge which commits us to follow the three steps (Measure, Reduce, Contribute) and report on our actions and achievements annually.

Science-based targets provide companies with a clearly defined path to reduce emissions in line with the Paris Agreement goals. SLR has joined more than 1,000 other businesses around the world working with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

Neil Penhall, SLR’s CEO commented “SLR has worked for nearly 30 years with clients to help them improve their environmental and sustainability performance. We know the biggest contribution we can make to tackling the climate emergency is through constantly improving and innovating on the advice we provide to clients. However, we also recognise we must play a part through continuing to reduce our own emissions and so I am delighted to sign the Climate Neutral Now pledge and set a Net-Zero target in line with the SBTi framework.”
