Overview
SLR’s mission is to support the creation of well-designed, sustainable and highly liveable communities based around the desired outcomes of climate, health, accessibility and inclusivity. By applying the vision-led planning approach, we pursue these outcomes through the design of placemaking and mobility measures, including:
- local living through the provision of amenities;
- street design which prioritises walking and cycling;
- green spaces to enhance physical and mental health; and
- mobility services which offer genuine alternatives to the private car.
Our R&D team has developed Flint, the market-leading vision-led planning tool. This helps our clients run masterplan scenarios to validate how different placemaking and sustainable mobility measures will influence travel behaviour within a new development. Using new data analytics, it provides metrics on carbon emissions, air quality and health - as well as internal and external trip generation - which is then included in our vision-led transport assessments.
