Rhodri Gardner

Biography

Rhodri has been working in commercial archaeology for 27 years. During this time he has worked for some of the leading archaeological contractors covering London and the South-East as well as spending 5 years in multi-disciplinary consultancy. Rhodri has been involved in many large-scale archaeological projects in multiple settings including the energy (nuclear and renewable), defence, built environment, minerals and agricultural sectors.

Rhodri’s role involves the management of a group of regional staff as well as the project management of complex projects involving his technical disciplines in archaeology and heritage. Day to day tasks include business development and liaison with clients, representing them and their interests with Local Planning Authorities. He also prepares proposals and tenders for a wide variety of project types as well as producing WSIs and other pre-start documentation. Rhodri is also responsible for the safe, compliant and efficient completion of fieldwork project under his management which can involve high value sub-contracted plant contracts as well as SLRs own operatives.
