SLR welcomes new European Land & Water Operations Manager

We are very pleased to welcome Jo Steele to SLR in her new role as our European Operations Manager for Land and Water. Jo will be based in our office in Nottingham, UK.

Jo started her journey with a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Nottingham. Since 2005, Jo has worked in environmental consultancy and has a technical background in contamination assessment and remediation related to due diligence, planning support and environmental permitting. She has experience in site investigation, risk assessment, brownfield redevelopment and many more. Over her career Jo has achieved chartered scientist status and has a wealth of technical experience for a broad variety of sites from greenfield to complex brownfield, including experience of emerging contaminants such as PFAS.

In Jo’s previous role, she was the Business Group Leader for the GHD UK Environment team and Service Group Manager for the Contamination Assessment and Remediation team. Within these roles, her responsibilities included a mix of operational management, people management, business development, and technical and commercial support.

Throughout her career Jo has maintained a focus on client experience and worked with clients to provide sustainable, pragmatic, and effective high-quality solutions. She is passionate about supporting the people she works with, guiding them through career development and ensuring they are working in a rewarding and fulfilling role.
