Making Sustainability Happen

When we established SLR nearly 30 years ago, we set out to create a business that helped solve sustainability issues – be they strategic, engineering or technical. We focused on building a business with a ‘One Team’ culture, bringing together great people and partnering with clients to solve their biggest sustainability challenges. Whilst the challenges to our clients (and our planet) have evolved, these attributes are as relevant today as they were when we started.

Everything we do at SLR impacts people, communities and the environment – whether we are helping a facility comply with environmental regulations, cleaning up contaminated land, designing a new development or advising the C-suite. SLR’s purpose is, and in many ways always has been, Making Sustainability Happen. This reflects our commitment to helping clients set their sustainability agenda and then make it happen on the ground.

Our Sustainability Goals

SLR takes a responsible attitude to the environment and to the communities in which we live and work.

To help achieve this, we have signed up to the United Nations Climate Neutral Now pledge and have committed to reduce our operational GHG emissions to a climate neutral position by 2030. In addition to this commitment, SLR has also signed up to the Science Based Targets initiative’s (SBTi) Business Ambition for 1.5°C . This commits SLR to measure its full value chain emissions, both upstream and downstream of our operations, and set a Net-Zero target within the next two years, in line with what climate science says is necessary to keep warming below 1.5°C.

Our Sustainability Report

One Team Culture

SLR’s One Team culture is the backbone of our organisation. Our strength not only comes from our skills and experience, but also from our ability to collaborate across disciplines and regions - supporting each other on a global basis. Our One Team remains the primary reason why colleagues say they love working at SLR, and is the key to our ability to offer clients full-spectrum sustainability solutions and support.

DE&I

We believe that, just as in the natural world, diversity brings strength and resilience to our organisation. We recognise that people from all backgrounds with unique experiences, perspectives, and viewpoints are essential to our success. We will continue to foster a culture that encourages, supports, and celebrates the diverse voices of our employees. It fuels our innovation and connects us closer to our clients and the communities we serve.
