Environmental and Social Impact Assessment for Unika I and II WEF, Katete, Eastern Province, Zambia

TotalEnergies Renewables SAS (“TotalEnergies”) and Mphepo Power Limited (“Mphepo”) (the Developer) propose to develop a 350 MW wind energy facility (WEF) near Katete, Eastern Province, Zambia (the Project). The Project will be divided into two phases: Unika I (200 MW) and Unika II (150 MW) and utilise up to 42 wind turbines to generate electricity, which will be fed into the Zambia national power grid via an aboveground transmission line.
SLR Consulting (Africa) (Pty) Ltd (SLR), in collaboration with DH Engineering Consultants Ltd, have been appointed as the independent Environmental Assessment Practitioner to conduct the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) process for this project.
