Biography

Thomas Grosch is an air quality modeling specialist with more than 30 years of experience supporting environmental permitting and regulatory air dispersion modeling. A United States Navy veteran, Mr. Grosch began his career in meteorology and has since developed extensive expertise in the development and application of advanced air dispersion modeling tools, including enhancements and utilities for the US Environmental Protection Agency’s AERMOD modeling system. He has developed numerous software and automation tools that improve the efficiency and technical rigor of air quality modeling studies, including distributed and parallel-processing systems for dispersion modeling and specialized frameworks used in complex regulatory analyses. His experience also includes developing and applying models for off-site consequence and accidental release evaluations, including analyses of toxic and dense gas releases.

Mr. Grosch has also contributed to the advancement of air quality modeling practice through technical publications and professional training and has developed and delivered dispersion modeling courses and workshops for audiences in the United States and internationally.
