Your Guide to Nature-related Disclosures

In partnership with SLR and the United Nations Global Compact Network Singapore (UNGCNS), we are pleased to announce the co-authorship of a paper on the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD). This paper underscores how the TNFD framework expands upon established climate disclosure principles, adopting the four-pillar structure of the TCFD now integrated within the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards issued by the ISSB.

Location: Chile

Challenge

Eólica Los Lagos needed approval for the construction and operation of a 284 MW wind farm, consisting of 43 wind turbines, in southern Chile.

Solution

SLR developed the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for permanent and temporary mobile works, including:

Air quality, noise, vibration and luminosity studies
Evaluation of electromagnetic fields
Studies in geology, geomorphology, hydrogeology and hydrology
Natural risk assessment
Research on soil, flora, vegetation and fauna
Survey of cultural heritage

Impact

This project represents a key step towards the consolidation of wind energy in southern Chile, with a robust environmental assessment and a commitment to sustainable development.
