The Green Hydrogen Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Guideline marks a significant step forward in advancing large-scale green hydrogen projects across South Africa and the broader African region. This essential document provides a structured framework for assessing the environmental impacts of green hydrogen initiatives, shaping a more sustainable and responsible path for the sector’s growth.

Co-authored by our experts Stuart Heather-Clark and Stephan Van Den Berg, the guideline is the result of extensive collaborative research and development.

Our work in green hydrogen spans several African countries, including Mauritania, Angola, Namibia, Tunisia, South Africa, Morocco and Egypt. We are committed to supporting the responsible growth of green hydrogen, ensuring that environmental impact assessments remain central to every project.
