Environmental Due Diligence

The need for environmental due diligence (EDD) is often a crucial part of acquiring companies, land and premises and SLR has considerable experience of supporting both venders and purchasers, in a variety of business sectors through this process.

We are able to provide both land-focused services, which evaluate actual and potential soil and groundwater liabilities pertaining to business and property, as well as the much broader array of requirements that are often now required. These could include an evaluation of a multitude of issues such as compliance with regulations and industry standards of good practice, health and safety, employees' exposure to toxic materials (including asbestos), product liability and carbon footprint.

SLR is also experienced in providing EDD throughout the life of an investment so as to control environmental liabilities and balance sheet exposure throughout the period of ownership. Through this process, we have been able to defend company reputations and provide uplifts to asset values on exit.
