Due Diligence Liability Audit

Compliance Audits & Litigation Support

Environmental legislation applies to all organisations.  When coupled with regulatory guidance, best practice, industry benchmarks, sector standards, corporate policies and local needs, 'compliance' can be a complex issue.

We have a detailed understanding of legislation combined with extensive knowledge of best practice, industry benchmarks, etc.  Cost-effective audit identifies compliance concerns and helps to develop compliance strategies and improvement plans.

Management Audits

EMS is increasingly used to make savings through continual improvement in environmental performance.  SLR provides site and management support to develop systems compliant to ISO14001 or EMAS and including OHSAS18001 and integrated management systems.  Audits verify data used in the compilation of Corporate & Social Responsibility Reports.

Management audits focus on principles such as leadership, communication, training, policies, etc and how effective management is in driving through aspects such as design, equipment selection, operational and controls.  Many systems are supported by programs of inspection, monitoring, reporting, review, etc. 

Sustainability - Resource Efficiency & Waste Minimisation

Sustainability is a common thread to many audits.  Resource efficiency focuses on the resource stream at the installation.  'Waste minimisation' programs identify cost saving opportunities.  SLR performs many waste minimisation audits as part of a resource efficiency program and has accredited auditors in aspects such as waste, energy and buildings design and operation.

Specific issues audits identify cost savings or opportunities for increase production.  Examples include asbestos, health & safety, process control, carbon footprint, effluent, air emission & odour, supplier audits, waste, bunds and protection measures, visual impacts, screening, noise & vibration, etc.  Audits can also examine specific issues such as hazardous substances controls, hazardous waste disposal, etc.
