SLR-Insite Acquires Canadian Environmental Consultancy

Just weeks after the Newcastle-based landscape architectural firm Insite Environments merged with leading UK environmental consultancy SLR Consulting, the combined group has made a further major international acquisition.
The addition of Canadian company SEACOR Environmental Inc, which is based in Vancouver, will allow SLR-Insite to expand its international operations and increase the range of services offered to clients throughout North America.
Bob Branson, formerly director of Insite and newly appointed landscape practice manager for SLR, said: "SLR already has seven offices in the United States including two in Alaska. The merger with SEACOR adds a further 17 offices and 210 people throughout Canada.
Together, we will take full advantage of the increasing opportunities in North America to provide environmental support services to clients operating in a wide range of sectors including wood products, manufacturing, land development, government, and oil and gas.
The acquisition also offers new career opportunities overseas for our UK team. Both SLR and SEACOR are committed to a client-centred approach and both value the importance of employee retention, employee ownership and health and safety."
SEACOR will begin trading as SLR Consulting (Canada) from the 1st January 2008.
