Working hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday

Job Description


At SLR we are currently expanding our Carbon Management & Energy Efficiency Management Team in the North West of England. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and pragmatic individual who wants to be part of the driving force behind our growth. We have a variety of roles available from junior to senior consultants looking to develop their career. We are currently looking to recruit energy consultants to work with key industrial clients in improving their energy efficiency, but would also be interested in receiving applications from people with broader energy and carbon experience.

Main Duties:

Key Tasks:

  • Delivering on site energy audits UK wide (to a recognised standard)
  • Data analysis using a rigorous methodology
  • Provide technical expertise focusing on energy management
  • Assist with and review compliance with regards to CCA’s, ESOS, CRC and EU ETS
  • Delivery of written technical reports

Person Specification

Technical Skills, Abilities, Experience:


  • Previous experience as an energy consultant; focusing on energy auditing
  • Experience in the industrial energy sector
  • Knowledge of GHG compliance


  • Energy modelling experience
  • Experience in the field of transport energy
  • Delivery of employee awareness campaigns and training
  • Experience of providing ISO 50001 related consultancy
  • Detailed knowledge of the regulatory landscape including CRC, CCA, EUETS, ESOS

Education, Qualifications, Memberships:


  • Educated to degree level with a relevant subject


  • Masters degree in relevant subject
  • Chartered Energy Manager, ESOS Lead Assessor
  • Relevant professional membership (Energy Institute, Energy Manager’s Association, CIBSE etc.)


Personal Attributes:

  • An ability to work well with colleagues, clients and contractors
  • Ability to work both in a team and under own initiative
  • Reliable, conscientious and committed

Additional Requirements:

  • Full driving license
  • Able to undertake short term travel within the UK and overseas
