We are able to identify potential mineral extraction, processing and added value sites, advise on their suitability and potential acquisition and then obtain the necessary planning or zoning permits and pollution control authorizations to enable such facilities to operate.
From initial site assessment and acquisition through detailed design, environmental impact assessment, planning, permitting and compliance, to final restoration and after use, including alternative after use development and enhanced residual development value. With a strong team of experienced project managers as well as experienced technical staff, enabling multidisciplinary projects to be carried out through a single point of contact manager.
We offer ongoing management, planning and permitting support throughout the life of a site including decommissioning and restoration. Ongoing technical support covers a wide and diverse range of areas from design of large tailings dams and excavated slopes to ecological surveys and post closure landscaping and nature conservation.
Of growing importance is the management of energy and emissions to comply with climate change and other emissions trading requirements. SLR is able to advise clients on the development of renewable energy resources as the minerals and mining sector is a relatively intense energy user.
In addition to its technical expertise, we also advise minerals and mining clients on mineral and property valuations, insurance issues and cost estimates for decommissioning in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
